Tonight the House of Representatives voted for a Continuing Resolution to fund the government until January 15th and to extend the debt limit until February 7th. The legislation passed the House of Representatives 285-144.
Congressman Yoho voted in favor of two pieces of legislation to ensure that furloughed federal employees recieve pay. Both pieces of legislation seek to provide retroactive pay to federal employees furloughed as a result of the government lapse in appropriations. The bills, which passed overwhelmingly in the House of Representatives, have not come to a vote in the Senate.
Today the House of Representatives voted on two different measures to keep the government open. The first included the Continuing Appropriations Resolution as well as a measure to delay the individual mandate to the Affordable Care Act and ensure that Members of Congress and staff are not exempt from the health care law.
H.R. 3076, the James Madison Congressional Accountability Act, requires Members of Congress, all congressional staff, the President, Vice President, and political appointees enroll in the Affordable Care Act exchanges. It also limits any subsidies to those that would similarly be available to the general public.

The legislation keeps sequester-level cuts in place. The bill passed the House of Representatives 230-189.
