Rep. Ted Yoho Discussing Immigration on CNN's New Day
Congressman Ted Yoho was on CNN's 'New Day' discussing his bill H.R. 5759 - the Preventing Executive Overreach on Immigration Act.
His bill is a long term solution that will apply to executive actions that attempt to circumvent immigration law. This is in contrast to any appropriations mechanism, which is only short term and will have an expiration date.
Congressman Yoho believes that preserving Article I legislative powers is not a partisan issue. An executive “fix” of the law - like the one the President has unilaterally implemented - is unconstitutional, temporary, and establishes a dangerous precedent that could be abused by Presidents of both parties for any area of law they disagree with.
