Yoho Votes to Scale Back Obama’s Intrusive Health Care Law

Oct 23, 2015
Press Release

Washington, D.C. – Congressman Ted S. Yoho (R-FL-3) voted in favor of H.R. 3762 – Restoring Americans’ Healthcare Freedom Reconciliation Act. The bill repeals certain provisions of Obamacare and places a moratorium on federal Medicaid funding for Planned Parenthood. Congressman Yoho released the following statement after his vote:

“Today’s vote is a win for the American people.  This legislation eliminated various provisions within Obamacare and scales back an intrusive health care law. My vote today will eliminate the medical device tax, the individual and employer mandates, the oppressive “Cadillac Tax”, and an Obama’s one billion dollar a year slush fund. This bill also, and I believe more importantly stops - for one year - taxpayer money from being used to pay abortion providers like Planned Parenthood while allocating additional resources for community health centers across the country for women’s health care.

“The bill we passed today will most assuredly reach the President’s desk and he will have to defend his veto of legislation that corrects and improves his deeply flawed health care law. A one size fits all law that is driving up the cost of care, stands in-between patients and their doctors, and is destroying access to quality healthcare. He must defend a law that levies taxes and oppressive mandates on individuals, families and small business owners.”
