Yoho Votes To Repeal And Replace Obamacare
Washington, D.C. – Congressman Ted S. Yoho (R-FL-03) voted in favor of H.R. 596, which will repeal the disastrous Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA). The bill would direct the committees on Education and Workforce, Energy and Commerce, Judiciary, and Ways and Means to submit legislation to achieve better health care through lower premiums, preserve the doctor-patient relationship, expand conscience protections, and reduce the tax burdens on Americans.
Congressman Yoho gave the following statement:
“This vote today will allow Congress to work towards replacing the PPACA with healthcare legislation that will truly benefit Americans and not burden them with over-regulation and crippling taxes. This is the moment we all need to work together. The government, medical industry, and the consumers need to work towards creating a better healthcare system. A system that is more responsive, affordable, and doctor-patient centered.
“It is my hope that any sort of replacement will expand access to health care without putting more of the federal government in charge. It will improve the healthcare delivery structure by returning power back to the states and local communities, and ultimately into the hands of the patients and doctors where it belongs.
“H.R. 596 will give Congress the chance to meet these goals and avert the consequences of the PPACA and implement reforms that are constitutional and beneficial to the American economy.”
