Yoho Votes To Improve Accountability At The VA

May 21, 2014
Press Release

Washington D.C. – Congressman Ted Yoho (R-FL-03) voted in favor of increasing accountability and oversight within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). H.R. 4031, the Department of Veterans Affairs Management Accountability Act of 2014, aims to give the Secretary of Veterans Affairs greater authority to remove Senior Executive employees whose performances have been deemed unacceptable.

“The Department of Veterans Affairs is tasked to provide the best care for our nation’s veterans. These brave men and women have served our country and deserve the best possible treatment in a timely manner. For far too long problems with patient care have persisted at the VA. These problems will continue until the employees responsible can be held fully accountable for their actions. For this reason and more I have co-sponsored and fully support passage of my colleague and friend, Chairman Miller’s, bill. While investigations are currently on-going, Congress must act now to provide the Secretary with the tools to end the neglect that is being perpetuated by some employees.”
