Yoho Votes No on Reckless Appropriations Minibus
Washington, D.C. – Today Congressman Ted S. Yoho (R-FL) voted against House Democrats first ‘minibus’ appropriations bill that sets funding for the Departments of Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, Legislative Branch, Defense, State and Foreign Operations, and Energy and Water (HR 2740).
“The five appropriations bills House Democrats lumped together to form this minibus show no sign of fiscal restraint. These appropriations bills are reckless, resemble nothing more than a wish list, and received zero bipartisan support. Today’s vote raises discretionary spending limits by $350 billion and places the federal government on a path to increase deficits by roughly $2 trillion over the next decade. With our national debt over $22 trillion, and rising fast, willfully busting spending caps isn’t the most prudent course for fiscal responsibility.”
