Yoho Votes No On Clean DHS Bill
Washington D.C. – Congressman Ted Yoho (R-FL-03) voted no on a clean Department of Homeland Security (DHS) bill that striped out language that would block President Obama’s executive amnesty.
Congressman Yoho gave the following statement about his vote:
“Last week, I voted in favor of a short one week extension – after a three week extension vote failed - to fund DHS in the hopes that the Senate Democrats would come to the table the following week and defend the Constitution against President Obama’s illegal executive action on immigration. Unfortunately, that did not happen. Therefore, I have voted against the ‘clean’ DHS funding bill that was brought up to the House floor today.
“I voted for, and the House passed, an appropriations bill over a month ago that fully funded DHS and also blocked the President’s executive amnesty – just as the American people and my constituents wanted. I will continue to stand strong in defense of the Constitution and to do everything I can to stop President Obama's unconstitutional executive amnesty.”
