YOHO VOTES FOR INFRASTRUCTURE REFORM LEGISLATION

H.R. 3080, the Water Resources Reform and Development Act (WRRDA) passed the House of Representatives today 417-3. This legislation reforms the process for water infrastructure projects in order to save money, streamline government processes, deauthorize costly past projects, and break down barriers that prevent non-federal partners from investing in projects. The bill is fully offset by deauthorizing inactive projects.

After the vote Congressman Yoho said, “In Florida, our 15 ports have contributed over $96 billion to our state’s economy and employs thousands of individuals. This commonsense legislation supports those ports and saves money by eliminating past projects. It also prevents future backlogs by eliminating current projects if they are not acted upon. This stops the federal government from wasting precious time and money. JaxPort is an important piece of the economic framework of our great state, and is vital to jobs in North Florida. The ripple effect these ports have on job creation in our state cannot be understated. This is an important step forward for North Florida and I am happy to support our ports in a way that is both fiscally responsible and reform-minded.”
