YOHO SUPPORTS GI TUITION BILL

HOSTS FIRST TELE-TOWN HALL OF 2014 TO DISCUSS VETERANS ISSUES

WASHINGTON DC  – Today, Congressman Ted Yoho (R-FL) voted for H.R. 357- GI Bill Tuition Fairness Act.  Immediately after the vote, he hosted his first tele-town hall of the year, calling veterans in his district, to discuss issues important to them and the details of H.R. 357. Here are some highlights of the bill;
Extends:

·      Prohibits State and public institutions from imposing tuition fees for veterans that are above the in-state tuitions rate.

·      Extends Rehabilitation Program for disabled veterans from 12 years to 17 years.

·      Funds work-study stipend appropriations through June 1, 2018

·      Extends Veterans Retraining Assistance Program from March 31- May 31, 2014

Congressman Yoho provided the following statement, “The fighting men and women who defend our freedom, at home and around the world, deserve every assistance we can give them when they leave military service. Today’s vote will do just that allowing them to rehabilitate, study, and retrain so they can have a smooth transition into civilian life. I will always vote with the best interest of our veterans in mind.”
