Yoho Statement On SCOTUS Recess Appointment Decision
Washington, D.C. – The Supreme Court ruled 9-0 today that President Obama’s three recess appointments to the National Labor Relations Board, in January 2012, were unconstitutional. Congressman Ted Yoho (R-FL-03) released the following statement:
“Today’s unanimous decision by the Supreme Court was a clear message to the President that he is not above the Constitution. It is disturbing to me, as it should be to all Americans, that our President governs above the law and blatantly bypasses Congress.
“The Supreme Court having to rule on this case has been a waste of taxpayer time and money, especially when it resulted in a resounding decision against the President. This time and money could have been better utilized to rebuild America’s fragile economy, create jobs, and pay down our debt.
“I am happy to see our constitutional system of checks and balances working for the people. I hope the President puts down his pen and phone and consults Congress in the future.”
