Yoho Statement on Appointment of Robert Mueller as Special Counsel for Russia Investigation
Washington, D.C. –Congressman Ted S. Yoho (R-FL), Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Asia and the Pacific, issued the following statement on the appointment of former FBI Director Robert Mueller to serve as Special Counsel of the Department of Justice (DOJ) investigation into Russian meddling in the 2016 election:
“The selection of former FBI Director Robert Mueller is an outstanding choice to lead DOJ’s investigation. His reputation in law enforcement and in the Department is impeccable. With Director Mueller leading the DOJ’s investigation, in addition to the separate investigations by the House and Senate Intelligence Committees, the House and Senate Judiciary Committees, and the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, I am certain we will get to the bottom of this once and for all.
“I have said multiple times in the past, that any country that meddles in our democratic process, whether that is Russia or any other foreign power, must be held accountable. After all the facts are laid on the table we can take the necessary steps to keep this from happening again.”
