Yoho Offers Amendment To Stop Government from Tracking Private Vehicles
Washington D.C. – Congressman Ted Yoho (R-FL-03) voted in favor of H.R. 4745 - Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2015 (THUD). The Congressman offered an amendment to the bill that was accepted by voice vote, which would prohibit any money to be used to mandate any type of government GPS location device on personal vehicles. Congressman Yoho gave the following statement after his vote:
“My amendment protects individuals privacy and avoids the slippery slope of government knowing where you are at all times. Government surveillance has run rampant and this is just another check against any infringement on your personal liberties.”
