High School Art Competition

Each spring, a nation-wide high school arts competition is sponsored by the Members of the U.S. House of Representatives. The Artistic Discovery Contest is an opportunity to recognize and encourage the artistic talent in the nation, as well as in our congressional district. The Artistic Discovery Contest is open to all high school students in the 3rd District. The over-all winner of our district's competition will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol. The exhibit in Washington will also include artwork from other contest winners nation-wide. Our Congressional office is proud to announce the start of the Annual Congressional High School Art Competition. Every year members of the U.S. House of Representatives sponsor a visual art competition in order to showcase the talents of our nation’s youth and encourage artistic exploration. Since its founding in 1982 over 650,000 students have participated in the nationwide contest.

The overall winner of our district competition will have their artwork displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol, along with the other nationwide winners, in proud display to the hundreds of thousands of yearly visitors.
